Saving with Amex email

During my time as a digital freelancer I was talked with a project to look getting users to use their Amex to save money on TFL.

The process

The starting point was looking at what Amex had available in terms of illustrations and imagery, where I found nothing really suited the combination of travel and saving. This is where I saw opportunity to create something using the illustration style that Amex has. Looking at their illustration style guide, I saw that you are only able to use a certain colours together, which lead me to pick the set of colours above and started scamping how this could look. Initially sketching on paper so I knew how the composition could look. Sketch below:

Showing the sketches to the Account manager and copywriter I was working with, everyone got excited about pushing more than what the Agency normally delivers to the client. Which got me to start working on the initial illustration for the hero banner.
For Amex to understand what the vision was with this particular piece I used an illustration of a train from their asset library, which immediately made everything else become isometric. Getting on a call with Amex and people from the agency, everyone was onboard straight away. The initial visual below.

Dignissim suspendisse in est ante in nibh mauris cursus mattis. Malesuada fames ac turpis egestas maecenas pharetra convallis posuere. Leo a diam sollicitudin tempor id eu nisl. Proin sagittis nisl rhoncus mattis rhoncus urna neque viverra justo. Adipiscing diam donec adipiscing tristique. Ultrices tincidunt arcu non sodales. Amet purus gravida quis blandit turpis cursus. In hac habitasse platea dictumst. Cras fermentum odio eu feugiat pretium nibh ipsum consequat. Nisi est sit amet facilisis magna etiam tempor. Ipsum nunc aliquet bibendum enim facilisis gravida neque convallis.
